"Armada" is the first book in Ernest Cline's trilogy that has a lot of potential, but seems to lack focus. It's an epic story about the world being invaded by aliens and the very few humans who are left on Earth fighting for their lives. "Armada" is told through the eyes of a kid, Eli, who joins a group of people fighting back against the alien invaders. The writing style was quick and easy-going, which made it difficult to get into. The narrator did not help either as he differentiated between characters with varying accents (which I believe were supposed to be done by a machine) and had two different voices for each character.

A group of kids take over their favorite video game, a virtual reality game called Armada, and in doing so, they conquer the world and discover the hidden secrets of their pasts. This is an amazing story that I wish was more popular.
