This book is about a young girl who's been brought up and protected by Immortal Guardians since birth. Her name is Claire, and one day she was told that she would be going to live with the Guardians of the Realm. They were going to teach her everything there was to know about being an Immortal Guardian, which meant she would have to learn how to hunt down the demons that humans couldn't see. The Guardians of the Realm knew all about Claire and where she needed help. They saw it in her soul. She has an empath power that no one else does, or at least none that they've ever seen before.

The narrator of the audiobook is Kirsten Potter, who gives a compelling performance. The book promises to deliver "sensory detail and rich descriptions" from the perspective of how a paranormal guardian's senses work.
