The Tea Rose Free Audiobook Download by Jennifer Donnelly
This is the audiobook of The Tea Rose written by Jennifer Donnelly which was released in 2009. I also read the novel, but this audio book is narrated by Jill Tanner who does a very excellent job. She has an amazing voice that’s perfect for this story because it feels like you’re listening to a story about someone just telling their friend about it with all the magic and wonder of their storytelling.
Just because it's summertime doesn't mean that you have to give up your tea-soaked English teas. With this audiobook, Donnelly is able to bring the reader back into a house of English cream teas and slightly sweet iced teas. This conscious choice of tea is a nice break from the usual hot beverages so often enjoyed in summer.
The Tea Rose is a beautifully written, richly imagined fantasy with an ending as bittersweet as the beginning. The book is told in three perspectives: of the fairies who have to remove the evil king from his throne, of a girl named Rose who grows up among them and learns their language, and of Crown Prince Liam and his tutor who fall in love but must remain apart.
A sweet love story between two cousins, who each dream of their own backyard tea rose garden. A child's piano playing brings them together and when the war breaks out, they must find a way to reconnect with one another. The book is full of magical moments that make you wish it never ended.
In the Tea Rose, America is a country in the midst of revolution. Thomas Paine has returned from France and published his revolutionary pamphlet Common Sense which was read by millions--and sparked a firestorm of change. The British, who have controlled the colonies since 1607, are all too familiar with revolution and this turmoil, but they also know it's not good for business. They've begun to replace their tea-drinking subjects with coffee drinkers and have banned all types of tea from imported ships. In order to stay in control and to protect their profits, King George III has issued a proclamation: no tea allowed on American soil.
The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly is about a girl named Abby who dreams of being an artist. One day, she meets a man who has tea roses that he sells for money and this inspires her to grow her own flowers.
