The Rose and the Thorn by Michael J. Sullivan is a new installment in the Riyria Revelations series that follows the story of two thieves who join forces to stop an evil religious cult from ruling all of Europe. Though this book is still a bit steeped in mystery, suspense, and magic, it's also much more on the political side than previous books in the series.

The Rose and the Thorn follows a man who is tasked with tracking down a missing person, but his quest for answers leads him into a dangerous game. The story features magic, myth, and adventure as it spans from modern day Ireland to the deserts of Egypt.

The Rose and the Thorn is an audiobook by Michael J. Sullivan. It is a fantasy novel that unfolds in the world of Elden, which was created from pieces of other worlds by three gods who are now dead. The story follows Denna, a young woman who helps her father run his tavern but dreams of better things for herself and her family, who live in poverty. She also makes friends with a mysterious magician, Penric, but Penric's journey eventually leads him to kill Denna's father as he attempts to steal power from the god-like beings that still live.

This is a complicated story. The audiobook was narrated by Tim Gerard Reynolds and this really added to the suspense of it. I loved the way he made Tris's voice different from Four's and so much more interesting to listen to. He spoke in a soft tone that made me laugh every time I listened to it.

When Michael J.
