The Magnolia Palace: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Fiona Davis

'The Magnolia Palace' is the story of a Southern family living in New Orleans in the 1950s. The parents are creative, artistic, and possessed of an endless sense of optimism that has been all but lost to the twentieth century. They are Presbyterians who have chosen to embrace the subtler and more mystical forms of Christianity that call for faith over formulas and formulas over dogma.

The story is set in the Deep South cotton-growing town of Maycomb, and revolves around Cleo McNelly, a 12-year-old girl who gets expelled from school. She is a rebellious teenager and doesn't have what it takes to be a Southern lady. After an eventful summer with her mother's best friend, she is caught up in crime again. She meets William Faulkner: a man who wrote "The Sound and the Fury".
