The Dancing Master Free Audiobook Download by Julie Klassen

The Dancing Master is a historical fiction that takes place in France during the 1700s. The protagonist, Elie, despises the dance and is told by his father that he must learn to dance since he will marry a girl who will be expected to. Despite the odds stacked against him, Elie becomes a world-famous dancer in Parisian society.

When 12-year-old Jamie is told she must learn to dance in order to save her family's struggling circus from permanent closure, her world changes forever. For the next three years, Jamie learns to lead a high wire with grace and agility. She discovers how to dance and then teach others, even though her diminutive size belies the power and strength within.

Elizabeth Sastre narrates this novel and she does so beautifully. Klassen's writing has a lyrical quality that makes the characters come to life. The language is lyrical, musical, and beautiful.

Clare's world is one of books. She has always lived in a library, surrounded by the knowledge and wisdom of the old texts, until an accident leaves her father with a broken back. When Clare's mother takes them to live on one of the outer islands, they find themselves finally living close to nature and in a place where everything is new and unfamiliar.

During a dance class, twelve-year old Marianne is frustrated with her teacher's strict rules. She does not have time to wait for each of the students to get into position for the dance at the same time. When she complains, the teacher tells her that she will be allowed to dance in her own way during their next performance. During this performance, Marianne dances beautifully and is praised by all of her fellow dancers.

What do you get when you mix a Mexican dance teacher and an American ex-marine, a little bit of love, some lust, and a lot of passion? A tense musical thriller that will leave you gasping for air.
