A woman struggling with infertility meets a rabbi who brings her to a bizarre fertility ritual that may or may not be connected to her missing husband. Using the Old Testament, Picoult explores the idea of modern-day miracles and finds both hope and tragedy in the ancient text. Taking listeners on a spiritual journey, she communicates her own personal struggle with faith and explores how religion influences self-destructive behaviors.

As an avid reader, I love audiobooks. I find the story-telling experience to be so much more immersive when you are having a conversation with the narrator. Patti Murin does an excellent job with this book and it is one of my favorites by Jodi Picoult.

The Book of Two Ways follows the adventures of one Nathan, a high school student who has been hiding his love for comic books since he was six-years-old. He's in love with Jessica and is convinced that they will get married. After making out with her at a party, Nathan learns that she is actually gay and decides to do whatever it takes to win her over.

The Book of Two Ways is a gripping story. The main characters are two very different people, but the story is told from the perspective of each person, which creates a fascinating and complex story. The book is narrated by Patti Murin, who does an excellent job of capturing all the nuances and subtleties of this complicated tale.
