The story opens with our protagonist Drizzt in the Underdark. He's elated to have made it out of the drow city, Menzoberranzan after being forced to stay there as a child. We learn that, like the elves, drows are a race that can barely see, so they rely on sound waves to navigate and survive. They also live by their dark gods (the Spider Queen) which is what drives them and what really makes them different from other races.

Tom Taylor narrates this audiobook with a clear and powerful voice. As the story progresses you find yourself wanting to hear more about Drizzt and his friends.
