Queenie Free Audiobook Download by Candice Carty-Williams

Queenie is the story of young Queenie, a girl who was taken from her family in Africa and brought to America as a slave. Her life is changed when she meets Benjamin Franklin, the writer of The Pennsylvania Gazette. Queenie follows Benjamin to Europe as he searches for his wife and son in order to find freedom for his family.

Queenie is a damn good book. Seriously, it's really good. I've read and re-read it many times and each time I love it more than the last.

This book is about a young African girl who travels from her homeland to the United States in search of a better life. She is only able to find refuge with an American family she meets during her travels. They welcome her into their home, help her learn English, and make her feel loved. But, as time goes on, she notices that the family's acceptance is not without its own set of challenges.

Queenie is a story about a girl who's trying to fit in, but feels like she doesn't belong. This audiobook is narrated by Shvorne Marks (yes, that's her name) and it's amazing. I am obsessed with this book and can't wait for the sequel to come out!

Shvorne Marks, who plays the role of 'Queenie' on the podcast, narrates this audiobook download. In this short story by Candice Carty-Williams, Queenie's partner gets into an accident. Queenie is alone and living in an empty house when she starts talking to her deceased mother about how to survive and make some money for herself. The dialogue between Queenie and her mother was a unique way to have a narrator.

Queenie is a story told from the point of view of Queenie, a teenage girl who has been entrusted with the care of her three-year-old brother, Michael. As Michael, who was born with down syndrome, grows older and becomes more adept at his special skills, he will test Queenie's maternal resolve as they try to navigate the world together.
