Rosalyn Landor's tone and delivery was so good I felt like I was listening to a story with the characters in my head.

The Marquess of Arden is a man who is haunted by the memories of his youth. He has yet to find an heir, but he can't resist the woman who arrives at a ball one night and claims she is his daughter.

The Marquess of Rothgar is a typical 17th-century rake. He uses and abuses women with abandon, yet his warm heart makes him a likable hero at the outset. As the reader becomes acquainted with him, his huge estate, and its many inhabitants, it becomes clear that he is also deeply flawed. The marquess' clan is plagued by dark secrets, some of which may or may not connect to the disappearance of his childhood sweetheart ten years before.
