My Name Is Lucy Barton: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Elizabeth Strout

My Name Is Lucy Barton is a gripping alternate reality novel about identity, love and questions of what defines one's self. The story revolves around a woman named Lucy Barton who has recently come back to her hometown after having an accident in Minnesota. Lucy struggles with the memory loss that followed as she tries to piece together her past and find peace in knowing who she is.

Each of us has a story to tell, a story that can be told with words, colors and sounds. By using these tools, the speaker can paint their world in so many ways. In My Name is Lucy Barton, by Elizabeth Strout, the narrator is going through the stages of grief and this is written through the character's point of view as they are telling their story. The novel begins when a long-lost daughter returns from Africa.

Lucy Barton is a newly retired author who has lived her entire life in the small blue-collar town of Amgash, Nebraska. She lost her father when she was young, but she's always had an equally strong bond with her mother. But Lucy's mother was diagnosed with cancer and died, leaving Lucy to confront a recent painful ghost from the past.

My Name is Lucy Barton is the story of an estranged daughter who returns to her small town home years after she left, only to learn that her mother has died and she has inherited a complicated family history.

My Name Is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout is narrated by Kimberly Farr, who brings to life the story of an introverted woman, Lucy Barton, and her mother's diagnosis of a brain tumor when Lucy's mother is eighty-six years old. It is one of those rare stories that do not end well: the narrator had better luck with this than most.

One of the best audiobooks I've listened to in the last year was My Name is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout. This book tells the story of a woman who has been living with her mother for years following her father's death, and manages to return to her home town for a visit. The protagonist decides she wants to live with her brother and his wife, but soon after, learns that he has passed away from cancer. She then struggles with whether or not she should stay in her hometown because it would be what he wanted or move on with her life.
