Iron Lake (20th Anniversary Edition) Free Audiobook Download by William Kent Krueger
"Iron Lake" is the fictional story of a small town in North Dakota. It tells the story of its citizens and their enduring dreams and challenges. In "Iron Lake," the townspeople are struggling with life on their own land. It's not until they form a partnership with an oil company that they start to have hope for the future and a fresh perspective on what home means.
Iron Lake is a psychological thriller from the author of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and The Talented Mr. Ripley.
One night, a gruesome discovery. A pair of young lovers on their way to the Iron Lake Reservation, site of a notorious massacre in William Kent Krueger's 20th Anniversary Edition of Iron Lake, are attacked by three masked strangers. Each of the attackers carries one end of a chain between himself and his victim--and the chain is fastened with an iron weight at its other end.
It's been twenty years since Iron Lake was first published, and this anniversary edition is the perfect opportunity to rediscover this exciting novel. This book is about a young couple who leaves their life in New York City to find a place where they can escape from it all. They move to a small town by the name of Iron Lake, and soon learn about a horror that has been going on for centuries. They eventually take matters into their own hands, and unravel the mystery surrounding the tragedy of Iron Lake.
Iron Lake is a classic novel by William Kent Krueger that follows the story of three friends in their early twenties who embark on a canoe trip down a remote stretch of Minnesota's Iron Lake. They are inexperienced, and they quickly realize they are not prepared for the rigorous life-threatening conditions they encounter. With nothing to eat, no means of communication with the outside world, and no idea where they're headed, these three friends will face unimaginable struggle in an attempt to get out alive.
Iron Lake is a book about the American family in rural Minnesota. The story begins with a young boy, Jacob, and his mother who are struggling to survive on their farm during the Great Depression. The struggles of Jacob's family are intertwined with the story of how Americans were struggling to survive during this time period and the development of government programs to help them. This is one of my favorite books and I highly recommend it if you like books about families in difficult situations or historical fiction novels.
