I was impressed by the narration of Her Last Wish by Blake Pierce. This is not a light read and the narrator does an excellent job of immerse me in the story and getting inside Rachel's head. The author has an easy style of writing that makes this audiobook truly enjoyable. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mystery novels with a touch of romance.

Rachel Gift is a former journalist who left New York City to live the simple life in her hometown of Stone Harbor, NJ. She spends her days writing a column that's been running in the local paper for as long as she can remember and raising a son with autism. But when Rachel finds out that someone has stolen her mother's ashes, she takes it upon herself to find out what happened...

Her Last Wish is an intriguing mystery that will have you in the edge of your seat. The protagonist is Rachel Gift, a 37-year old reporter for a small town newspaper that needs to raise money for their struggling paper and she decides that one last adventure will help generate some buzz. At first, all goes well until Rachel finds someone dead and the killer has used her name as a ruse to escape.

[Mary Sarah] is a new voice in the audiobook business, and she brings her own unique style to this story. She does an incredible job of making you feel that Rachel's life just got more than it could possibly handle when she finds out that someone has been stalking her online. She dashes through restaurants, stores, and public spaces like only she can, narrating perfectly with action and description. Her performance is impeccable, bringing both humor and tension to every scene.

Rachel (the protagonist) is a young woman who has lost her job and her motivation. Her boss at the law firm where she worked, Caleb, offered her a job managing the company's new trust account. After she accepted the position, Rachel found out that Hollywood actress and good friend of Caleb's, Lisa Landon, was ill and needed one million dollars to continue living. Rachel decided to take it upon herself to raise the money and save Lisa's life by launching a new business to help launch her career as a recording artist
