Daisies and Devotion Free Audiobook Download by Josi S. Kilpack

When Daisies and Devotion begins, we're caught in the crossfire of a war. The battle is between the Spiritualists and the Reapers, who have enslaved humanity for thousands of years. Daisy is sheltered by her family in the remote country town, but when she's taken from them, she finds herself fighting with other girls against Reapers on the battlefield.

Daisies and Devotion is a love story of the charming and beautiful Flora, who is beloved by the whole town. She's known as the daisy girl due to her bright yellow hair, but she's not as sweet-natured or naive as her name would suggest. Flora has a dark past that she's never spoken about, but when she finds herself longing for something more, she embarks on quite a journey.

The narrator of the story is an abolitionist. She comes to realize that if she doesn't find a way to help the slaves escape, they will be killed when they are sold. As a result of this realization, she disguises herself as a slave and starts faking illness to get out of her duties.

"Sofia carefully pulled the daisy from her hair, cupping it gently in her palm before lowering it to the ground. With a sigh, she sat down next to the daisy and placed her own hand over the golden petals. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, momentarily letting herself feel the warmth of a summer's day."

One of the things I love about audiobooks is that they can be as long or as short as you want them, with chapters and chapters of suspenseful action at your fingertips. This was an amazing treat for me because Josi S. Kilpack has written a book which captivates my attention from beginning to end. My favorite part is when Lainie returns home and out of nowhere, Daisy appears in her yard. It's these little moments like these that make my heart soar and bring me joy!
