The Age of Death is the second part in a series of two books by Michael J. Sullivan. It focuses on the life and death of Pendergast, an agent in the Night Watch Division of the New York Police Department. After being shot during a heist at a museum, he wakes up with no memory of his past or identity. He has to work with other agents as well as learn more about himself through clues that are revealed over time.

In the second of a two-part series, Gentleman Jole and his friends are attacked by the dreaded Bonehunters who have been sent to kill them all and end their lives. Having narrowly escaped this peril, they head to a fortress in search of a new life. But as they settle in, dark things begin to happen, and when one of the group falls mysteriously ill, it becomes clear that someone is manipulating them from within.
